Front Desk Manager

Full Time • Laredo (North Central)

Position Summary:

The Front Desk Manager will lead, direct and controll all facets of front desk and Kid's Club orperations with an emphasis on member service and overall gym administration.

Major Responsibilities:

Management/Leadership Duties

  • Ensure that all employees are wearingproper uniform attire and nametags.
  • Budgets and schedules Front Desk staff coverage.
  • Conduct monthly staff meetings with these departments.
  • Manage and motivate Front Desk Associates And Kid's Club Associates to emphasize superior customer service.
  • Manage Front Desk Associates and Kid's Club Associates to ensure policies and procedures as outlined in the Gym Operations Manual and Kid's Club Operations Maunal are followed at all times.
  • Position is a scheduled front desk position in addition to supervisory duties. Exception is that this incumbent will be scheduled to work during peak hours.

Operations Support

  • Ensures that Front Desk and Kid's Club are functioning according to Policy and Procedure.
  • Manages and controls all front desk binders according to Policy and Procedure.
  • Manage Daily Activity Log and all logs associated with each department.
  • Ensures front desk staff correctly enters information  into Memeber Service Log.
  • Directs and controls all gym walk-thru's with potential customers.
  • Manages the UP's system.
  • Communicates with GM for the Region regarding ways to improve Front Desk and Kid's Club operations.
  • Oversees "Lost and Found" items and their storage.
  • Responsible for making periodic cash deposits to avoid too much cash in registers.
  • Inspect cash register drawer counts and complete after-shift reports.
  • Responsible for the control of cash deposit by assisting the GM with ensuring the daily deposit is made on time. 
  • Properly manage and maintain operational and payroll budget. 

Retail Management

  • Manage and support retail,concession and tanning sales and promotions.
  • Orders all concessions.
  • Conducts daily and month-end retail and concession inventories.
  • Inventory Control to include locking up storage, receiving and reconciling incoming merchandise.
  • Must maintain the target profit margin for the Gym on all retail sales.

HR/Payroll

  • Hires, trains and supervises all Front Desk Associates.
  • Responsible for completing HR paperwork for Front Desk Associates prior to new hire orientation.
  • Works with the GM on payroll processing and other HR issues for the Gym.

Administrative

  • Attends required training and management meetings.
  • Maintains mothly Front Desk staffing schedules

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Be self-motivated and have strong organizational and management skills.
  • Possess thorough understanding of company mission, regional goals and missions, and how his/her facility will participate in these areas.
  • Exhibit a superior sense of customer service at all times.
  • Must be knowledgeable Company policies and enforce them accordingly.
  • Possess good leadership abilities.
  • Must have positive attitude and be able to motivate staff in a positive manner. 
  • Must promote team spirit in the workplace.
  • Possess strong motivational, communication, team building and training skills.
  • Excellent communication, organzation and customer service skills.
  • Understanding of basic cash procedures.
  • Ability to handle challenging customer issues with patience, tact, and professionalism. 
  • Must have a high level of professionalism, honesty, intergrity, and work ethic.

Assigned Hours

  • 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
  • May need to work additional hours to complete assignments as requested.
